Andy Murray has voiced strong support for fellow British tennis player Jack Draper, emphasizing Draper’s impressive recovery and high level of play as Wimbledon approaches. Draper, aiming for a full-fledged return to the competitive scene, has been diligently training at the LTA’s National Tennis Centre after injuries caused him to fall to No. 113 in the global rankings.

In his advisory role, Murray has been closely observing Draper’s progress as the 23-year-old works to regain his fitness following significant knee, elbow, and shoulder issues. Murray has expressed admiration for Draper’s talent and development, noting that the young player’s overall game has surpassed his expectations. He commended Draper for his “very strong” and “complete” level of tennis, highlighting his quick learning ability and increasing confidence during training sessions.

Draper is slated to participate in the Eastbourne tournament as part of his efforts to regain match fitness and enhance his endurance across upcoming competitions. Murray mentioned that although he is committed to supporting Draper’s journey, his role remains adaptable due to family obligations. He stressed that any coaching partnership must find a balance between professional duties and his personal life.

Meanwhile, at Queen’s Club, British wildcard Arthur Fery achieved a milestone by reaching his first ATP quarter-final following a straight-sets victory over Adrian Mannarino. Additionally, top seed Alex de Minaur maintained his impressive form with a decisive win over Dennis Shapovalov, further highlighting the competitive atmosphere at the event.
